Electrical Engineering Intern

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

The Electrical Engineering Intern located at our Global Headquarters in Michigan City, IN reports to our Electrical Engineering & Project Management Manager and is responsible for implementing the development of new products and manufacturing techniques in response to needs, specifications, and objectives established by the corporate and development organization.

A successful candidate will:
• Assist in one or more technical and professional areas including analog design, digital design, communication and firmware.
• Express design ideas, processes and specifications in diagrammatic form as documents, drawings, prints or schematics.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of the product configuration process by creating drawings, prints, bills of materials, or other documentation.
• Be Familiar with technical tools such as test equipment, computers and related software. Able to effectively use software productivity tools (word processors, spreadsheets, databases, etc.) as well as technical software tools (CAD/CAM, FEA, circuit analysis, IDE, compilers, assemblers, debuggers, etc.)
• Be Familiar with a variety of design analysis approaches including simulation, algorithms, mathematical analysis and numeric analysis.
• Assist in implementing testing, validation, verification and assembly plans.
• Apply technical knowledge and experience in defining needs and requirements for test equipment, machinery and specialized fixtures or facilities for manufacturing, lab or model shop use.

WHAT WE EXPECT

• Pursing a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or relevant field of engineering.
• Basic knowledge of technology, principles, and general practice associated with engineering.
• Must be capable of successfully executing assigned tasks.
